the right one Pond guy for my garden!

There is a choice between a liner pond and a prefabricated pond.

Both variants have their advantages and disadvantages.

With a liner pond, the freedom of design is the main argument

- while the prefabricated pond scores with its resilience.

ADVANTAGES OF THE LINER POND

  • Complete pond basins are usually only produced up to a size of approx. 4-5 m in diameter. So if you are planning a large pond, the solution is a liner pond.
  • Simple and more creative implementation. You can design the depths, shore zones and the shape yourself.
  • Damaged pond liner can be repaired or simply replaced
  • Cheaper than a prefabricated pond

DISADVANTAGES OF FOIL POND

  • Laying only works optimally in warm temperatures
  • Vulnerable to damage (a sharp stone under the rubber boot when cleaning can be enough)
  • UV radiation from the sun
  • frost and ice
  • You have to develop riparian zones and planting zones yourself
  • Sand and tile substrate to prevent damage from water pressure due to rocks in the ground (which have been overlooked) is MANDATORY.

ADVANTAGES PREFABRICATED POND

  • Very robust and more resistant
  • Easy change of location possible
  • resale clear easier
  • Easy construction
  • Easier cleaning
  • Repairs can be done by yourself without much effort
  • Variety of colors and shapes of the pool
  • No wrinkling

DISADVANTAGES OF PREFABRICATED POND

  • The rim of a black cymbal is difficult to hide (that's why WE don't make one)
  • Certain sizes are only available and involve high transport costs ( costs).
  • No individual product
  • Manufacturer-related weaknesses (material too thin)
  • Acquisition costs are often very high

CONCLUSION

Like the prefabricated pond, both the foil pond have their justification. The foil is for creative individualists b first variant. If you are planning larger fish (koi carp) or a larger stock of fish, then the foil with which you can create optimal space conditions is also the right decision.

If it is "just" an eye-catcher that is easy to care for, lighter in construction and robust, then use a ready-made pond basin.

TIPS

Buy a prefabricated pond made of GRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic) instead of PE pools, as these are much more robust.

Build a liner pond with EPDM liner (synthetic rubber) instead of PVC liner as it is more resistant and durable.

We hope you enjoy choosing and constructing your garden pond!
